Best in Parking, a leading developer, owner and operator of parking and mobility infrastructure in Central and Southeastern Europe, has reached another milestone in sustainable urban mobility. In five central garages, new 50 kW fast chargers have been put into operation. These charging points are now among the fastest publicly accessible charging stations in Vienna’s city center.

The new fast chargers are located in the following Best in Parking garages in central Vienna:

  • Garage Neuer Markt – Neuer Markt, 1010 Vienna
  • Kärntnerstraße Garage / Opera – Kärntner Straße 51, 1010 Vienna
  • Garage Am Hof – Am Hof 1, 1010 Vienna
  • Garage Georg Coch Platz – Georg Cochplatz, 1010 Vienna
  • Garage Schwarzenbergplatz – Schwarzenbergplatz 5, 1030 Vienna

Faster charging, smarter parking

E-mobility is regarded as a key element in reducing CO₂ emissions and improving air quality in cities. With the consistent expansion of its charging infrastructure, Best in Parking is making a significant contribution to the mobility transition. In September 2025, the group offers more than 700 charging points for electric vehicles—now supplemented by particularly high-performance fast-charging stations.

Integrating fast-charging infrastructure into central garages is a crucial step toward making e-mobility more practical in everyday life. While conventional charging points often require several hours, the new 50 kW fast chargers enable significantly faster charging—ideal for drivers who want to top up their vehicles during short appointments, shopping trips or restaurant visits.

"Garages are a central component of the urban mobility mix," explains Johann Breiteneder, CEO of Best in Parking. "With the new fast chargers, we create the perfect link between parking and charging. Customers can use their charging times flexibly, handle the entire process digitally via the Bmove app, and thus make their everyday lives more flexible. Alternatively, they can pay for the charging process together with the parking fee."

Austria’s automotive market is undergoing fundamental change. More and more people are choosing vehicles with alternative drive systems. According to Statistics Austria, from January to July 2025, nearly 60 percent of all new passenger car registrations were for alternatively powered vehicles. In response, Best in Parking is steadily expanding its charging infrastructure, with plans to grow the network to over 1,000 charging points in the medium term. The company's own photovoltaic systems at the Prater Garage in Vienna and the Geyerschütt Garage in Klagenfurt are already supplying renewable electricity for this purpose. Further projects in Vienna are already in planning and implementation.

Focus on user-friendliness

The charging process should be as straightforward as parking itself. This is what Best in Parking is all about: Customers can either manage their charging sessions digitally via the Bmove app or pay directly at the ticket machine along with the parking fee. This eliminates the need for different providers or special charging cards. For tourists in particular, this is a decisive advantage: they can charge their vehicles without prior registration or additional cards. In this way, electromobility becomes not only more sustainable but also noticeably easier and more practical in everyday life.
